Vinita Nair
In July of 2004 she was hired by the station and covered a variety of stories, such as the investigation into the murder of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair joined ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. She was responsible for anchoring live news coverage, as well as briefings on ABC's digital channels. Nair was a co-anchor for World News Now, America This Morning and ABC's digital networks beginning on September 17th of from 2008 until February 18, 2011. She was partnered with Jeremy Hubbard and later Rob Nelson for both of the shows. Nair informed the audience on World News Now that she will not appear on World News Now after Friday the 18th of February. She would also have the day off as her last for ABC News. Peggy Bunker, a former anchor for KDVR Denver, was her the direct successor. In the February 18 issue of World News Now paid tribute to Nair in all three segments, including appearances by current and former coworkers, such as Jeremy Hubbard. On her last day, Nair treated her crew with a tasty breakfast.
